I just repaired this old Kutmaster knife. I thought this one blade was unusual. I was wondering if someone can tell what it would be used for.

Thank you

A hungry man's can opener at that! 😉 It would be easier to use a Ka-Bar to open a can in my opinion.

Thanks, Ken. I have to say that the Kutmaster canopener shown in the OP was one of the most difficult to use in the test I did and had to be very sharp to work at all.

I have an older Imperial scout knife with that type of can opener. Just a few days ago I took it on a test run to see how it did opening a can of tuna. It was definitely harder to manipulate than some of the newer styles but I did manage to keep from going hungry. :)
