How to remove a finger print from a blade? This knife has never been sharpened. I don't want to use an abrasive. Harold

You may have to keep polishing over and over to get it out. I was once told that every time I polish a blade, it removes microscopic traces of metal. You may have to remove just enough metal to get that print off.
Can you take a close-up photo so we can see?

Mnay folks have overly acidic sweat, which will cause an acid etch of their fingerprints in steel. This happens surprisingly quickly, within a matter of hours. It's one reason why you see a lot of sellers at knife shows wiping down their blades after each person handles a knife. We had a guy at the knife shop who wasn't allowed to sharpen the 1095 bladed knives for this very reason. The first time he did there were etched fingerprints on half the blades, and every knife had to be re-buffed.
Harold what kind of knife is that? Is it a mirror finish?

There is one product I have used quite successfully to remove fingerprints and help stop new fingerprinting, it's a product called Walker Wax.
It is available on eBay for $10 a bottle. It is a wax with a
very mild abrasive in it. In my experience it protects better than Renaissance Wax and unlike Renaissance Wax it will polish a little bit. You may have to use several applications of it, but that would first thing I would try to remove a fingerprint like that.
Here is the seller on eBay:

It is not my sale, not my product, but I highly recommend it; I have used it for years and it works very well.

He is so willing.
By American poet Emma Lazarus (1849–1887). For inscription on the base of the Statue of Liberty.
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"."
