While I'm certainly no custom knife builder, it's really fun to try out a few repairs and such on cheap or badly abused knives and parts.

I had a pice of stag which I cut too small for a handle replacement on another knife. I was a little bored and decided to put it on a cheaper peanut I had which lost its shield. Someday I'll finish it, LOL but for the meantime it's...

Well its not bad for my first time. its a big change to a knife!. There are some real good custom knife builders out there. Im just having a little fun.

Here is my first try. It was a badly abused two blade trapper.
I'll to make it an edc to see how it holds up.

You guys are impressive, keep it going. Its amazing how much of a change it makes in the knife....

Hey JOE, thx for the pictures! You tackled the pins right off. I took the easy way out and glued mine on. I was looking at a repair book and it shows pictures of "spining the pin"

How did you handle that part?

I looks like I could get two nail sets and modify them for use as pin spins.

Hawke, I found a small drill bit that fit the orginal holes in the liners and drilled the handles. Then I found some small nails that I chucked up in a drill and turned down to fit, then I pinned and glued the handles to the liners. Finally I peened the nails with a punch on a metal block. I used some techniques I've learned from repairing old Harley clutch hub studs and some my brother, who is a jeweler, taught me. But most was trail and error. With Lots of error.
