November Knife Giveaway - In Remembrance of Bill McLeod

Good Day Knifers,

This month's knife giveaway reminds me of the reasons I love this hobby so much. 8)

AAPK received this stunning 1983 Schrade Heritage with instruction to give it away as an anonymous donation in remembrance of Mr. William McLeod (a.k.a. Willie Mac or WmMac) who passed away suddenly August 17.

As I understand it, Mr. McLeod was retired USN, generous knife collector, and an all around good guy. Just two days prior to his passing, he purchased a 1983 Heritage Large stockman online after viewing some nice Schrade knives posted on another forum. Unfortunately, it is unlikely he ever saw that knife in his own hands.

In remembrance of him, this 1983 Schrade Heritage is being given away hear on his behalf.

It seems fitting that this knife is offered during the month of Thanksgiving.
Let us never take things for granted and let us always be thankful for all of our blessings.

After viewing this knife, I can understand how the Heritage series would be a hard one to pass up ::drool:: ::drool:: Good taste Willie Mac. Good taste!

Here are the specs on this beauty...
8041G Splitback Whittler. G stands for green bone handles, which are polished. Coined edge bowtie Schrade shield, dated 1983. Fluted silver nickel bolsters. Polished springs & liners inside & out. Primary blade etch TM "Everlastingly Sharp". Heritage ovr Schrade+ overr N.Y. USA front tang mark. 8041 pattern on back tang of Primary. Blue & Gold hinged top Box only used on Heritage series from 1983-86. Schrade papers & inspector's card included. ::drool:: ::drool:: ::drool::

Entry instructions are under the pictures.

Wow what a special knife, and what a fine and generous gesture to donate it in memory of a loved one. This knife should occupy an honored place in the collection of whoever is lucky enough to win it.

Thanks once again Bryan for the opportunity to participate in this great contest.

Like 4ever3 said-William was a stand up guy and beyond what the word 'generous' means. A class act who I had the pleasure to talk to.
Thank you to the anonymous donor, even though I know who, his secret is safe here. He's quite a character too and one I'm happy to call 'friend'.

I still have a couple knives in my possession that belonged to WillieMac....they now belong to his daughter as I understand...I'm in the process of making a sheath for them....they are both CS and have 184 on them...so that be my number....

We corresponded some, he owned a couple of my sheaths, and I am proud owner of a Case 6.5 Seahorse he gave me as a gift...he was indeed an all-around great guy.

I was lucky enough to deal with Bill a few times and he was truly a wonderful guy and a great friend. Generous to a fault and gave us a daily example of how a Christian man conducted himself. I'm honored to be part of this...
