gec pioneer specs,8.5 open--blade 3.75--1095 carbon steel at 58 rock--bubinga wood & she weighs 3.8 oz.
menefee humpback skinner specs,8.0 open--3.5 in. blade--154 cpm alloy & micarta handle with 3.0 oz. weigh
the pioneer one time gutted, went thru ribs & skinned 2 whitetails--still scrape hair. i would expect the menefee to do a little better plus its stainless. personally i prefer a patina on my blades but most younger guys like stainless.--HiPower
