I have a "new" Ulster on the way....
I have been (off and on) looking for a better Ulster 10 OT for my Old Timer collection for some time now. I FINALLY decided to hit the "buy it now" button for this knife.....

It looks like a nice, solid example of this hard to find Old Timer.

Recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper and it was added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an ULSTER 2610, two blades, three tang stamps, 3 3/8" closed, two springs, "barehead jack", pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "ULSTER (over) KNIFE (over) CO." The main blade back tang stamp says, "2610" The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "ULSTER (over) KNIFE (over) CO." The main blade has a VERY CRISP half stop, along with a NASTY opening and closing snap. The secondary blade has a GOOD half stop, also a GOOD opening and closing snap. Both blades have seen some use. A part of the one handle side seems to have worn away. That does NOT cause me concern. Overall, this pocket knife is still in GOOD condition. It did need some minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Ulster 10th Mountain Division. Trying to determine if the what was normally the phillips blade was made this way or is broken off. I had always thought that was a one piece blade and does not appear it has been broken. Guesses?

I have found a couple of newer Boy Scout knives that had the Phillips blade broken off as well. They were spot-welded to the side of the flat blade. I see a spot there on yours, so I suspect that it had also been spot welded, and the weld broke loose.

Here's a pair for comparison. The welds appear to be in different places.

Just found a couple more variances in the two I have:
1.One has brass pins and brass liners the other has iron pins and liners.
2.The one with the iron pins and liners has an extra scale pin.
Never noticed this before. Were there "Mark I and Mark II" issues? J.O'.
