Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I bought this knife from "Jethro Bodine" here at AAPK a couple of years ago - a NOS Pocket Worn Case 6347SSM made in 1998 - it has been in the box ever since I received it. I decided that I'm going to carry some of the "footlocker queens" I own - so I carried it yesterday. What a nice EDC! It is very nearly as long, but slightly thinner, than my Buck 301 or Schrade 8OT, but with rounded bolsters it was virtually unnoticeable in my LFP jeans pocket all day (whether walking or sitting in the car). The snap on this one is great, very positive without being difficult (just the way I like them). I only made one cut yesterday, but it is factory sharp (very!) One cool feature of the knife is the three spring construction - I used to not like the idea of an individual spring for each blade, but I've warmed up to it from carrying the current Buck 301 and 303 - the advantage is straight blades in a Stockman pattern knife - no crinking to cause blade rubs as I have on all the Case 6318 pattern knives I have owned or observed. I think Case has this one right. OH

Today I went with a Klass whittler and a Steel Warrior half whittler. Both of these knives have a decent to nice walk and talk, which is really one of my top criterion. Both got some use today at work and in the garden.

The lower knife in my picture is an 881Y. It has a bit of Swinden key wobble on the main blade end. Still completely usable but you can't fix these with love taps....
Looking for the magic penny!

I've heard both good and bad about the russlock pattern, so decided to try it out myself. This one has the cv steel, so should keep an edge fairly well and be easy to re-sharpen. I'm looking forward to using it today.

I like that Russlock a lot Rustle
I have one that I used to carry quite a bit, once you figure out the one hand opening process, it is a very handy knife indeed. Mine is the more common clip point blade in stainless, but I have had my eyes open for a drop point in CV at the right price.
I went for a little ramble in the woods this morning, and carried the Glennbad modded Camillus Sword 78....it looks and feels right at home in the woods environment!

Mike - That Camillus is a fine looking knife. I can see why you want it in your pocket.
Glennbad - I would hate to count up the number of knives I have left in the woods! Sigh.
Today I carried this Case Seahorse and Boker whittler. I bought them to carry, and I do, but I have not brought myself to sharpen them yet. When I do that will make them truly everyday knives.

I think that Russlock is going to work out pretty good. I cut down a wheelbarrow full of flower stalks lickety-split, and a few runners of wood vine ( maybe Virginia Creeper ). The big blade made short work of the flower patch. Yep, I think this one will be one of my favorites.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
The drop point blade gives the Russlock an entirely different look - I like it! Nice stag Mike - Glennbad really fixed that one up. Nice Böker Whittler; I carried my Böker washboard bone Whittler yesterday too - but it stayed in the box all day (a buddy wanted to see it). As always, nice combination of carries Dogg. OH

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
We just came back from the ECU Homecoming Parade. I had this Schrade 12OT penknife in my pocket for the parade (used it to open a package for my wife the mailman left for her while we were gone). After lunch I'm heading to the woods for opening day of muzzleloader; I will have this Schrade-Walden skinning knife I got from Mike313 last spring and this Case 6347 for my pocket. I sure hope to notch my tag with the Case and skin a deer with the S-W. OH

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Yesterday I packed this ol Case Classics Anglo Saxon whittler. 4 1/4 inches of whittler greatness. It'd already been packed and had patina when I got it, what the heck.
Today haven't decided whether it'll be the Anglo Saxon again or this old 4 inch Western whittler.

That Schrade-Walden is a kool knife. At first glance it reminded me of one of the old Navy mkII fighting knives.Old Hunter wrote:We just came back from the ECU Homecoming Parade.
