Sadly, it looks to be quite neglected. Some background info........Shawneetown became Illinois' first European settlement in the mid 1700's. In the years after the Revolutionary War, Shawneetown was an important outpost and the headquarters for the Northwest Territory. The first bank in Illinois was chartered there in 1816, operating out of a log house. In 1839 the cornerstone was laid for a more permanent bank building. That building was brick with a limestone facade and impressive columns. It is the oldest bank building in the state of Illinois. Old Shawneetown was devastated by the great Ohio River flood of 1937 and the town was mostly destroyed. Residents and businesses fled to higher ground. The bank, a bar, and a handful of homes is all that remains of the old town. The bank is listed on the NRHP. I took a picture yesterday from street level. The 2nd picture is one I downloaded from the 1937 flood, note the water level appears to be well up the doors, near the transom.

Unfortunately we do not have a law in South Dakota like Wyoming recently passed that allows us to pick up roadkill and cook it for dinner. lol

I have decided this will the first and last trailer I ever restore. Angle iron has a lot of angles on it.

I still have to paint it, replace some running lights, coat the boards with a couple of coats of water sealer and install them, and repack the wheel bearings.
