Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

7wounds, Wow, when you said MINT you meant MINT - that Buck 112 is perfect! Lack of a nail nick is no defect, it is how they were made in that era. Thanks Dogg, thinking I will take it with me to Texas next week - going hog hunting for a few days. OH

Old Hunter, yeah I don’t even think it was ever used at all, when my buddy got it it was covered in green patina so he himself restored it polished it etc. he only paid $15 for it at the estate sale I couldn’t believe the deal he got, made a quick $20 from me for his time. Good buddy. ::ds::

You didn't get hurt a bit, you could easily get $60 for that knife but if I was you I keep that one and enjoy it - that's what Buck Knives are all about - really cool, well made users! A knife is a knife, but that one is also a status symbol. OH

OH, those finger grooves are nice. I only have one, a 1987 vintage. Don't carry it as much as I should. Where you headed in TX? Please, shoot some for me. I hate to be like that but those dang things are way to destructive. Pete

Pete, going to Independence Ranch in Waelder TX (fly into Austin and drive about an hour and fifteen minutes). I'm going as the guest of a buddy I served with in OIF in 2003 - he won the trip in a drawing! OH

Had a nice trip, shot one, didn’t use the Buck knife for skinning as that’s included in the $50/per hog shot fee. I did use it as a pocketknife for all other typical uses. Took a picture of my 110FG in Texas. OH

Ok so you guys might get mad at me but I just picked up this buck 532+ for only $20 on the letgo app. I’m assuming this is a good deal but please can someone tell me the value of this knife? I’ve seen different prices online just not sure what is true. It is in almost perfect call condition. Thank you ahead of time

This one is hopefully in the mail. I had never heard of this pattern, and, after comparing the specs to my other 1xx patterns, I thought it would be a very useful one. We shall see.

Cal, trust me, you're going to love the Buck 117. Handle the size of a 118 with a downsized 119 blade - or maybe a blown up 102 if you will. Enjoy, OH

You are right; this is a good one (of course they all are). The love gallery here is for the smaller ones, the 121, 105, 118, 102, and now... the 117. Great knives. I just got in a 102 in red micarta (not phenolic) in BOS S30V. Good.

I just picked up this buck 176 carbon fiber handle today, was made in the year 2000, don’t know much else about it but only paid $50 for it. Can anyone explain this knife away? What is it worth etc.? Thank you in advance.

I posted this elsewhere today but it belongs here too. A Model 121. I picked this up at a flea market after I left a local knife show. Mostly out of money but had some trade goods so I figured something could be worked out if I saw something. I ran across this Buck. I knew enough about the stamp to know it was an older knife. Can any of the Buck experts say weather the blade looks right? The knife dates to 67 to 71. It came with what I think is the correct sheath but it doesn't have the model # stamped on the back. The knife fits perfectly. Is the missing number significant?

Steve, the knife looks all correct to me. The 121 knives from that era have thin blades, high quality filet knives - love mine. OH

OH

Thanks! After I examined it a bit I was pretty sure it needed to come home with me. I checked on the 'bay and found out the model # and then did some looking here to see what could be found out. It's a keeper.

Thanks! This blade is about 1/8th in thick. A little less than that though. Pretty stiff, no flex so maybe made before Buck decided to use the pattern as a filet/fish knife.

If the blade is 1/8" thick are you certain it isn't a Buck 105? OH

Yes, as OH suggests, it is a 105 Pathfinder c.1967-1969.
