This is my first Moki Kronos and my first Mcusta ... Seki knives are simply the est!

You have it right that those 2 brands are the est, Tony, I have both knives plus a couple other models by those makers, and am always looking out for more I can afford. Is the bamboo the larger that's made with powdered steel, (about 8") or the shorter (about 6 1/2") version? Thx!

I’ve been picking up a lot of Coleman knives. Bought a collection of them last week and selling about half and keeping half. These tiny trappers are the show stopper for me. The stag is beautiful. The size is just right and the fit and finish is incredible.

I have one of those that has been hiding in the catacombs deep under Mini-T Mountain for the last few years that I just dug up yesterday to check on and clean and oil the pivot joint and SNAP! the back spring broke when I opened the master clip blade
Not sure what to do with this Coleman other than curse, wail and cry

Update on my Coleman Mini Trapper that had the broken back spring:

After an extended period of cursing, wailing and crying, I finally decided to send the knife to BIGHEAD for repair. He deleted the spey blade and converted it to a single blade Mini Trapper which I actually like even more than the original two-blade version. Moral of this story: That which at first may appear to be a crushing defeat, can actually become a resounding success with assistance from the right people

Mini-T Monkey is understandably ecstatic because he is quite fond of this little Coleman and he loves single blade Mini-Ts, so this is a Win-Win situation for everyone

Thought I would post these here as well as in the “sub-collections” thread.
A.G. Russell had these Dogleg Trappers for sale in his catalog back in 2010 and 2011. He said that the maker in Japan presented it to him and he made a few tweaks on it and had them produce these, wish he had mentioned what maker, I suspect Moki or G.Sakai. I’ve managed to acquire the stag version and the Quince burlwood version. The pearl handled ones are much harder to find.
All stainless steel construction. VG-10 steel in the blade with stainless steel bolsters. I like the swedges on the blades and the shape of each blade. Trappers are not my usual taste, but I will make an exception for these.
The stag is European red dear stag and looks magnificent. I bought this one from Roland Procter over 5 years ago. The quince burlwood is one I just found last week on eBay.

Moki did make these for AG back then, along with the Peanut. Somewhere back then it was confirmed Moki was the maker. I've had a few cocobolo versions and was quite satisfied, though the pulls were a bit lighter than I prefer. Haven't seen the red died burl one before, nice pickup.

Thank you Rob. I hope you will chime in whenever a Seki made knife is presented. I’ve been trying to put down a record of who made what in Japan. Especially the A.G. Russell knives made in Seki Japan. I contacted A.G.Russell about this information and got no reply. I can’t figure out why so many knife companies are so tight lipped about who the manufacturer is? What is the harm in knowing? Thanks again.

Gary, we first met last fall at that show. I bought a Cripple Creek and a Baby Hattori fighter from you.
