All About Pocket Knives

I used to have one I made back in high school machine shop. It fired 22.cal blanks. I fired it twice, once at school to prove it worked, (I got an A) and once outside my grandparents bedroom window at 2 o'clock in the morning. I thought I was being funny, they didn't see the humor. Grandpa took it away and I never did see it again. He never would tell me what he did with it, and it wasn't amongst his belongings after he died. I've always figured it probably met it's demise at the anvil out back of his shop. Oh well, I have only myself to blame.

I inherited these Japanese things (no idea what they are) from my grandfather. He got them in Japan in the 50s.

Little wooden Japanese people. I don't recall the center one having participated in the POS Round Table but it appears he did.

Give them to your wife.......she can display the one appropriate to her mood so you'll know what to expect as soon as you walk in the door.

Thanks, Jerry! I checked out Wikipedia. Apparently they started being sold as souvenirs at hot springs in the 60s. I guess they were just some type of folk art before then.

Charlie, that's not a bad idea! Maybe I should see if I can find others that encompass all emotions. I can give them to my girlfriend and tell her to use them. No guarantee she will though.

Blademaker that is a fine lookin' old 8-N!! Has it been restored or did y'all just take good care of her? We had an 8-N around 1960, it had a "dog leg" lever on the left side of the transmission that was for high and low range. Made some good money as a kid bush hoggin' and breaking up garden patches for folks. Treefarmer

The first Ford Tractor that I can remember driving was a 1946 2N....She was a good one!!

My grandson has been up visiting this week (going back home tomorrow). It's been a real joy having him here. Tuesday morning we picked up my grandson that lives local so the cousin's could have a little time together and grandpa could spend time with both at the same time.

Wednesday morning we went out to my buddy's house and took a few boomers.

I had a couple of fox horns so I gave them one each. The oldest (Dakota) is pretty good at it.

Sometime back, I had promised my 782 gear to the youngest (Jayden). He seems to have taken a liking to the helmet.

Took pictures at the grocery store of some bourbon brands y'all might not be familiar with.

is the pump missing parts? like a hose? or a screen around the bottom?
at first thought i would have guessed an old tire pump...but...the configuration of the foot hold suggest it was a sump pump...

Yep, agree with Dale .....some kind of fruit / cider press.

well ya it's a cider press..but the pump is for what? to remove the cider from a five inch deep bucket????

Okay, my apologies. The fruit press was not part of the question. I guess I was so focused on the pump I didn't think it was leaning against that old press.

Gringo was correct. It's a hand operated sump pump. I had never seen one before and thought it was kind of cool.
