Thanks C6, Paul, Greg and KJ for the nice comments! This is one of the SCC folders I found at the OKCA show this past April. I am hopefully headed back in 2017 for another stab at some classic vintage folders
Happy New Year and here is hoping we all find some vintage folder gold in 2017! C6 you sure know how to end the year with your fantastic haul

Thanks kj! but I'm not anywhere near pro level. I try to do the best I can though, since in our hobby, photos are everything. Pros would have used a light box or auxiliary lighting for these shots but I prefer natural lighting and you pretty much have to take what it gives you at any given time.

This cut co is a little rough but the price was right. I looked it up in schrade catalogs and I'm pretty sure it's an 8913. Clip is down a bit but other two are all there and its snappy

Here is one that is a little unusual. Schrade Cut.Co. never made fixed blade knives. None. In nine years I have seen three with SCCO tang-stamps. The first two were identified by a respected researcher of Schrades as being made for them by Kinfolks. The third one is this one. I don't know who made it. The sheath was missing; that might have helped. Hammered pins and brass guard. Nice bone, with one chip at the butt. Probably marketed to boys, it is just shy of eight inches overall.

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
Wonderful piece Cal! I got a two-fer today, walden 899 peachseed (with NS liners
) and a walden scout with no pattern number. I'm quite happy with both, the spey on the 899 is very elegantly shaped and the scout has a big honkin' screwdriver.

The utility knife appears to be a 914. Look here in the '68 catalog.... http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/ ... W-CATS.pdfKnifeSlinger#81 wrote:Wonderful piece Cal! U.SA. is missing on your tang stamp. That means it was quite early- closer to 1950 than to 1960.KnifeSlinger#81 wrote: I got a walden 899 peachseed (with NS liners)

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
Here's a cool, little S-W, 3-1/8" equal end jack, with strata-wood handles. It's the open stock #243 and was only made from 1953-'54. Not a safe queen, just a good HOK. It actually looks better in hand, than the photos I could get of it, in the available light today.
