Here a famous/infamous picture from the internet. There are 4 copperheads in this picture. Most folks only find 3. Some have only found 2. ::facepalm::
A friend of my son got a surprise from one of those nasty little jokers last week. The guy was bit on the foot THROUGH HIS SNEAKERS. He is in the hospital and has had 2 rounds of anti-venom and still is leg continues to swell. Watch where you put your feet!!!!

The copperheads are bad this year. I killed 5 last week around the house. I have had 2 friends and 1 dog bitten so far this year. Thankfully they all had no issues other than some swelling for a couple of days. All of them took benadryl. One was admitted to the hospital where he spent the night for observation then was sent home the next morning. My other friend didn't even go to the doctor.

I am on the Nextdoor app, and my neighbors are reporting a lot of copperheads as well.

I have been making the rounds around the house and shop every evening just after sundown with a flashlight and shovel. I haven't seen any since last Monday (killed 2), so maybe I am thinning the population somewhat.

Is there such a thing as a snake trap?
::shrug:: Asking because I really don't know. Just wondering.

Yes - Google "snake traps" and you'll get all kinds of offerings. Most are simply large scale glue traps. I tried them to get rid of a nest of rattlers under the barn.

Caught damn near everything BUT the snakes.

I had better luck trapping snakes using 18 inch wide chicken wire as a fence around flower beds. Caught 59 rattlers in the 27 inch to 42 inch range. Smaller ones could get through and the larger ones probably went over. As the smaller ones grew larger, they got snagged. Caught 48"+ ones in live traps that I usually use for trapping skunks and racoons that take up residence under the house.

Why are you in lockdown? Is Covid not on the downhill slide down there?

Those kids and grandkids are cuter'n a bug's ear.

Hi Old Mate Jerry,
We closed our Borders and had almost no Covid.
We were very slow, with vaccination - for the under 50's,
Then last month, a driver picked up some air crew, NOW about 5 million of us are in Lock Down. ::facepalm::

JP (Ripster) had mentioned on FCD about his wife's success in painting and I think that is wonderful.
We had a family friend, Ronald Hedge, who was a painter and even had a lot of his work in galleries around North Texas and in Oklahoma City. He has passed on, but over the years we acquired more than 30 of his paintings and I thought I would share a
few of them. He loved Colorado scenery.

He was a gifted artist, and you can see his love of Colorado and landscapes, i particularly like the top painting. :)

Have been doing some tinkering, and had to pull these out. You can't find these anymore, you can get the drill bits, but they won't be made here. I don't know of any tools made here anymore. ::hmm::

A shame Craftsman tools are now made offshore, too. Your drill bit set is terrific, and the case just screams "old-school!"

Thanks mate, had this set for 30 years and it is one of my " old-school " treasures. ::tu::
