I've always admired old hand tools especially the ones I grew up using. I found this in an estate sale and it would barely move, there was so much grime and hardened oil on it. Taking a page out of Jerry D's book, I used my sonic cleaner with a few drops of Dawn dish liquid in it. I couldn't get the frame in the tank, but I was able to get everything else in there disassembled. I cleaned it up and reassembled it with a little bit of Quick Release oil on it, (It's not just for switchblade you know). This hand drill now turns easily and it's an entirely different piece of machinery, It's really quite smooth now.

It even has some storage in the handle for drill bits. ::ds::

Good save Dale. I love old hand tools. I have one like that but it doesn’t have bit storage in the handle.

Great save and resto. I think most on the forum like old tools nearly as much as knives. :)

Thanks guys. When I get some time I will post some more old stuff I have salvaged. It's hard for me to pass up a good working tool at a sale or a flea market when I know I can make it work, even though I don't need it. ::facepalm::

Wow! Some really wonderful tools.

But it really upsets me when I see a workshop that organized. Mine is usually a mess! ::facepalm:: ::dang::
