Keith, nice set of trappers in fabulous condition and it is helpful to see them side-by-side. I think I like the looks of the smaller (Turkish?) clip and skinning blade over the larger clip blade and pen blade combination.

These pictures are of a Remington R4783 Official Scout knife with a removable bail. The pattern number is inked on which indicates a mid to late 1930's knife. There is a picture of its tattered box.

Nice knife Jerry. See if you can identify the error in this knife.

Mike, great little jack scouts. I believe they are the first two I have ever seen. Thank you, John

Looks like the bail is on the wrong bolster. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t make me pay attention.espn77 wrote:Nice knife Jerry. See if you can identify the error in this knife.

On page 22 of this thread was my first post in the Remington forum. I am playing with my knives tonight and this was the first Remington knife I bought. I don't take great pictures but they are a whole lot better than they used to be.
The knife that started it all!!!!!

Well men still peeking in on you boys...looks like your holding down the Remington fort pretty well!
Keith I am leaving this really for you. I am so proud of you and your collection! I have quietly watched your collection evolve into one of the most desirable collections that may be out there. I love your passion and the way you are honing your knowledge and expertise in Remington cutlery. Some times I want to help you a little when someone asks a question that you may not have a ready answer but I know you’ll get there. Life changes us all over time and a few too many surgeries left me a few memory gaps to the point that I’ve forgotten a lot and the things I think I remember are not truly what I think I remember.
So in saying that I just want you and the boys to know I still read the Remington thread when I get an email and enjoy the look see...but happy to be a quiet bystander. Always smiling

Keith, another great grouping of your fantastic collection. I especially like the jack with the black and white scales. Very, very nice and rare. Thanks for sharing. John

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Thanks John. I agree that the jack is a hard one to find. I've not seen that pattern on a Remington before. I got it from Miller bros, Dimitri.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
For the most part Remington bone handles have a very distinct look. But every so often I come across one that is totally different.
