Not sure what terminology you’re speaking of, cudgee. I suppose if someone is looking for a reason to be offended they will be. Jerry Clower has recorded numerous comedy records and I’ve never ever heard him utter a curse word. As with most good storytellers and comedians, there’s an element of truth in their stories.

This was pretty fresh.....if you can see the tore up sand on both sides of the trail, that's signs of feral pigs. About a month ago
I was close enough to hear them still rooting the ground.......crazy stuff in the wild. I LOVE IT!!

Regarding acceptable terminology, I was recently informed by my daughter that I needed to say raccoon, not coon. She had a friend over one night and I turned on the outside light to see if any critters were out there. Often raccoons will be under the feeders rooting for sunflower seed at night. Anyway, I remarked that I did not see any coons. My daughter told me later that her friend (who is not a country girl) asked if I really thought that black men might be in the back yard. So I need to clean up my language. I think possum is still okay ...

It is interesting. I used to encounter a similar problem during my working years. I had a man working for me from south Louisiana who was a cajun. He was proud of his heritage and he loved to be called a coon-ass. He preferred the label and explained to me that any person with that heritage liked to be called a coon-ass. It made the Bride horribly uncomfortable for me to use the term no matter how much I 'splained to her that it was not a derogatory label and, in fact, a preferred one. He was a great story teller and we enjoyed many hours working together. He never ran out of stories.

My friend, we reached that point ages ago. You would not believe what we have had to change/delete over here.

Thankfully, we out here in Saskatchewan (for the most part), still have are guns, decent politicians, and freedom of speech. Watching what's happening in other places/provinces/countries, is very sad, and for the most part, expected. I guess people don't learn from the past/history, or intentionally ignore it .
