Looks like it was a mechanical display that you could refill so the first but cost more than the refills probably did.
Ahhh...I missed the part about the mechanical movement, makes more since now. ::nod::

Well, I can't believe it's taken all these years to pickup one of the HB toothpicks with candy stripe handles, but I did finally manage to find a pretty decent one. It's not mint, but it doesn't miss it by very much.

Picked up another HB Barlow. It cleaned up better then I thought it was going to, judging from the pics in the auction.

I posted this one in the IKCO thread, but I reckon this is the more suitable thread for it. 46'-56' Imperial Super Kamp King.

Thanks Guys! I didn't realize until recently that they actually produced the Barlows in 2 sizes. One is 3" the other 3-3/8". A way to quick reference them is, the 3-3/8" model has Barlow stamped on the bolster, the bolster on the 3" is plain. Which now puts me back up to 3 known patterns I need to complete my collection of cracked ice shells. ::facepalm::

You guys have been coming up with some NICE ones! ::tu::

This card is on the last page of the 1959 Imperial salesman's catalog
on the http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/ site.

I had to take ALL the staples out to replace the elastic... AND there NOT a standard size!
Had to make new ones!!!! ::dang::
