Last Camillus Production ??

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

It also became the most recent example to be added to my general, CAMILLUS, pocket knife collection. It is a CAMILLUS, WHAT-A-KNIFE, two blades, one tang stamp, one handle stamp, 3 1/8" closed, two springs, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp (double line) says, "CAMILLUS (over) New York (over) U.S.A." The main handle side stamp says, "WHAT-A-KNIFE" The main blade does have a CRISP half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a CRISP half stop. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT require cleaning. I just wiped it off.
I took some pictures and here it is.

Thought I would post my Dura Tool and What-A-Knife Camillus groups I've picked up.

The closed ones are the same patterns as the ones they are above. The Closed one on the right has a "WERNER" which possibly could have been a SFO order from Camillus for WERNER Company which makes ladders and other equipment. I have a nephew who worked for Werner for several years. Werner was always good about giving the employees a bonus an a gift around Christmas.

P.S. The one pocket knife says "WARNER", not "WERNER"

Thanks Skip. Sorry, dyslexic fingers. Supposed to be Warner. They actually go by Warner Specialty Products. They build a lot of material handling, material movement, work stations, ladders, trollies, I think in the last few years they've got into robotics some.
