Ken the reason is to get drunk!Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 2:24 pm Thanks for the pictures Tom. You’re making me want to come back to beautiful Germany. As you know I’ve spent a lot of time there in all parts of the country. The schnapps remind me of going out with friends there, always ending the evening with a round of schnapps, and often also snuff with the schnapps. As I recall you put the snuff on the back of one hand and the glass of schnapps in the other hand. Drink the schnapps and then snort up the snuff from the other hand.I can’t remember the reason for this tradition?
Ken
Hope you enjoy all the new pictures my friend!

Very nice Tom.
Here’s our newest edition, Hazel. She’s a yearling Saanen doe. A YEARLING THAT WEIGHS 160 POUNDS! She’s a big girl, and gentle as a puppy.
(In the second pic, that smaller goat is a 4 month old buck I raised. He’s a big ol boy too).

Colonel26, There are so many uses for goats, from pets, to weed eaters, to food providers. I would be interested in knowing the role your goats play.

I have about 7 acres that the previous owners of this place had logged. All the tree laps and brush were left in place and the blackberries, native grass, and new trees grew up through it. You can’t walk through most of it, and most of the year you can’t see the stumps or even most of the logs and brush piles.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 11:58 am Colonel26, There are so many uses for goats, from pets, to weed eaters, to food providers. Sooo, I’m using the goats to clean the place up. The added benefit is that with the high goat prices it’s a bit of revenue from this rough ground too.
