And here I thought I was the only one who has a change bucket (or equivalent). I don't recall when I started it, I think in the early '90s sometime, but I bought this paint bucket at Lowes and set it on my dresser. Every day, I would empty the change from my pocket into the bucket and when it got full, I would take it to the bank and cash it in. Once I started using a debit card for all transactions, I hardly ever have any pocket change. I think it's been over ten years since I last saw the bottom of the bucket.

If someone correctly guesses the number of coins in the pail do they win the pot? ::hmm::

Night firing M60 A1 tanks in 1967, Germany Another CO was standing between two of the tanks not realizing they were about to fire. Permanently lost all his hearing in one ear. Later he became editor of a major newspaper in Oklahoma.

I was out in the blackberry patch harvesting the day's take. I turned around and caught my 8-1/2 month old Blue Heeler snacking down on the blackberries that were at her level. I think she downed at least a dozen thumb sized berries.

Now she's sacked out on the couch looking like roadkill.

There were a handful, on my morning walk. We got a few, over a period of about a week. It's been a couple of weeks, since they were producing. I made the mistake of giving my dog a couple. ::nod::

Funny you should post that ZZ. I just came in from the blackberry patch myself. While I was picking, my Labrador Retriever Mazie was picking and eating them too. She very carefully noses in, avoiding the thorns, and picks ripe berries to eat. They must be able to tell from the scent which ones are ripe. ::shrug::

Today was the first day of really good picking. Probably have a pie or cobbler tomorrow, depending on what the wife decides to make. Meanwhile I’ll settle for a bowl of berries with some Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream.

I like blackberries and always enjoyed the blackberry cobbler my Grandma made. She would send us kids down to the blackberry patch (growed up in the fence row) and we would eat as many as we picked. But, if I had my druthers, I'd druther have raspberries.

Firewheels are blooming in the pastures now. Summer is here, regardless what the calendar says.

The name Firewheels got my attention 'cause we have Fire Lilies. These are perennial lilies that just keep coming back. These were planted by my uncle back in the mid 70's. They are beautiful as are Ken's Firewheels. Gloriosa is the scientific name, they also are frequented by the humming birds.

Known as Indian Blanket here in central Texas. Beekeepers call it Gallardia, a bastardization of its genus name Gaillardia puchella It's one of the top sources of nectar and pollen this time of year.

Called by those names here also, as well as Firewheel. And that pollen and nectar is why honey from our bees around here is so dark colored. https://rangehoney.com/shop?olsPage=pro ... ower-honey

Good job QS. I think a chipmunk is about the hardest thing to photograph as they are never still. You got that one and to top it off, with the rabbit too. ::nod:: ::nod:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Nice photo, Garry. Does bribing them with cracked grain keep your flowers and shrubs safe?

Hasn't been a problem yet. These guys hang out at the back end of the property behind the house and over by the barn. Vegetation in that area is pretty wild. Flowers and shrubs are at the front of the house. Although the rabbit does go to the front he has done no damage yet. Possibly because he does fill up on seeds first thing in the morning.
