A Throne for Santa Texas style...
John
I saw one of those chairs made from horns Tuesday in the local antique store. If I remember correctly, they were asking $450 for it.

Naw, they had a sign on it that said not to sit on their their pile of horns from the butcher pen, so I had to pass on it. Can’t imagine buyin’ a chair without trying it out, plus Miss Joy would never forgive me for draggin’ something like that home!

I sure have, beautiful counrty. Indians have a fascinating history in Montana, from the Battle of the Bighorn to the Bighole battle field. I am a big fan of the history, especially Sitting Bull.

When I was a teenager, I spent a week living with a family near Kalispell on a 4-H exchange program. We went fishing on Flathead Lake and visited other cool sites in the area. They were a family of loggers and they took me up into the mountains to watch them de-limb and load some felled trees. It was a gorgeous area!

It is beautiful up around Kalispell and Flathead lake. Western Montana has some extreme beauty! The southern and northern parts are quite different, with south west MT having big open river valleys with big mountain peaks, and the north west mostly lower elevation with tight river valleys and heavily forested. When I think of the north, I think of Ponderosa pines, we have just a few in the south and halfway up the state, they become more prevalent.

My brother took this picture on the Kenai Peninsula, AK on one of the few clear winter nights.
Taken using a Canon T7i by leaving the shutter open for 25 seconds @ f/3.5, 18mm, ISO 1600.
In that 25 seconds a shooting star flashed through the frame."

A super-fine shot of the night sky. The meteorite was a great bonus.

Nice pictures, I am always fascinated by a group of shelf mushrooms. Late December and no snow cover in the snow belt.....hmmm
Only about 3 1/2 months to Morel time!

We had a GORGEOUS sunset today! Here's a couple of shots. The sun is setting over the Channel Islands (I think that is Anacapa Island - I can never remember which is which). The island is about 11 miles off the coast.

Kind of a spooky shot with the tree branches.
Here is a moon shot that my brother took a
few months back up in Alaska with a BIG lens.
