You are so correct. That endless heat just becomes so mind sapping, over here in the central outback it can be 100 degrees plus for 3 months in a row, and can get up to 120.

I spent three and a half months stationed at MCB Twenty-Nine Palms and six months stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso TX. That was enough desert to last me the rest of my life. I've been to Phoenix 4 times over the years to visit my daughter and other relatives plus a 4 day business trip to Albuquerque, but I sure as the dickens don't have any desire to live at any of those places.

We did not make it to Tombstone. We only had three days for sightseeing and there just wasn't time to do everything I would have liked to do. I would have no desire to live anywhere that got that hot on a regular basis, but I do think I could stand wintering there. While I was there the highs were in the low 80s and the lows were in the 50s.

Had quite a few cecropia moths this summer, can't remember ever seeing so many. Beautiful giant silk moth that lives about two weeks.

I had a 3-wheel ATC when I was a teenager. I loved that thing. I'm lucky to have survived with only a couple of broken bones...

My sister-in-law had this "albino" Cardinal show up. Actually not an albino, it is a mutation that I would call piebaldism. Ornithologists or biologists, please correct me if I am mistaken.

I still have one , used it today to grade a lot .

If you hadn't done it in a while it's not unusual to be sore the next day. Happens to me sometimes after a race. My dad races and rides regularly, he is 62. I know a couple of guys that are well into their 70's that still ride. It's a mindset I suppose.

south west Michigan. From digging a farm pond. Crinoids, brachiapods and bryozoans.

I saw a picture last year of a yeller cardinal somewhere on the net. Don't know iffi'n it was photoshopped or not.
