Nice Soddy ya got there, Sir! Great, reliable pattern, and in S35VN--it becomes a superior tool--though I think pricing on this new offering is far too high. You'll have to update us on daily performance, edge retention, etc., etc.
Am I the only person that thinks the Case Sodbuster would make a great automatic, ala Buck's 110, and 112?
Now if Case put out an auto version of this knife I think it would be a big success. Especially if they used a 420HC, or comparable steel, so you don't have to take out a loan to buy one...

"Nasty" is in the eye of the beholder. I see an honest old knife there. And depending on the pattern, RR puts out some quality stuff for the prices they ask. Yeah, yeah... Made by the Red Chinese, I know all the arguments against, I deeply respect that P.O.V., and am NOT looking to open that topic for discussion. But when prices of US and other nations' offerings have risen to nearly absurd levels, folks are going to react by searching out reasonably priced options. RR provides some of these options.
I'd tote that mariner.

I have one that looks a lot like that one. Mine blew down here on a strong north wind out of Kansas. From experience I can say, very knice knife.
