re-planted Easter Lily's from church. And a vintage Stanley bench vise. around 1950, missing a jaw insert but, that is okay giving age and I will bend up copper shims for it and I have several others. clamped to wife's potting bench.

Thanks, friends!
Interestingly, I was on Sitonia, Halkidiki, and I have been through this:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/11/worl ... idiki.html
The main blow of the hurricane was on the first peninsula - Cassandra, but also on the Sithonia was scary. We were at a restaurant when I saw a storm coming up. We were a big company, I told them that it would be scary soon after, but they did not believe me and they were kidding me. We were late with the fatal 10 minutes and the storm caught us on our way to the hotel, which was about 500 meters away. As if a wall of wind and rain hit us, which in a few seconds passed into hail. I was walking in front and fortunately I saw an open garage, where we hid until the storm passed. So, we got away only with wet clothes, 6 dead mobile phones and children's fright.
Interestingly, the hurricane has somehow surrounded the monastic republic of Mount Athos and hit the island of Thassos on the other side

Eustace, when you say the hurricane surrounded Mt.Athos, does that mean the storm passed by without hitting the monasteries or it did hit them? Sorry, I am not clear on what happened; I've read considerably about Mt. Athos.

Hurricane circumvented Mount Athos, I.e., the storm's front goes south after Sithonia, then east, and then northeast, and hits Thassos. No monasteries suffered.

Cool old vise, Mr. Watch. I love watching those old vise restoration videos on Youtube. I have a couple of my great-grandfather's vises from early last century. One is in good shape, and one is in rough shape and missing some parts ( I posted some pics on some thread a while back.) I have been eye-balling some donor vises on e-bay to scavenge some parts off of. I will attempt a restoration on it after I finish the bandsaw.

I am so envious of you having all those peaches. Man-o-man, a good ripe peach is a real treat. With a bit of a blood sugar problem, I have to limit my consumption of peaches and cobbler is not on the menu any more. Beautiful fruit!!

Thanks Ray, I understand I'm a Type II diabetic, but I have to have a little bit. I would share some of the peaches with you.

Are the bricks on your house laid vertical like that?

Unusual building technique.. ::tu::

A lady at our church, now deceased, was famous for her delicious desserts. Her banana pudding was especially good. One Sunday at a church dinner I overheard another member, a diabetic, say “Someday I’m gonna get her to make me a banana pudding. I’m gonna take it to the hospital, sit in the door at the emergency room, and eat the whole thing!” :lol:

Of course, he was joking. I think. ::hmm::
