Thanks TW!! Yes I have been in that little antique shop a time or two. My wife's folks have a farm about 6 miles up the road. The place is special to both of us. Hope you got out and enjoyed the day! :)
A farm up in that part of the world ought to have some good deer hunting!
Did get out and enjoy the day. Cooked about 40 pounds of fish for a men’s fish fry at our church. Thoroughly enjoyed the weather...and the fish!! Then I cleaned up my truck; first time the weather has been any good for that.

There ya go!! Good Ole fish fry!! Yes sir. Some good deer hunting for sure!! Lots of good hardwoods. We enjoy walking around the ole farm.

Philip.. I do not know know.. Sorry.. :oops: That pic was taken in a State Park along a trail.. That tree must have blown down and blocked the trail.. Cut to remove.. There is a lot of Poplar, Maple and Oak there.. ::shrug:: :lol:

I'm not an expert on anything but from the size of the vascular tubes it looks to me more like oak or chestnut than a maple or "poplar" & chestnut would probably be decomposed by now. Nice knife, though. That I do know. And a nice shot.

From 1997-1999, we were stationed in southern Turkey, at Incirlik Air Base, near Adana. One weekend, we went to the coastal town of Mersin. It was in an old, market stall...that a man, working with rudimentary tools was making and selling these goat horned, friction folders and selling them for $1.50 I think I bought about 6. I gifted 4 and kept these 2. They easily take a shaving-sharp edge and hold it pretty darn well. I use them to take the hide off and for deboning, when I clean deer. "Pointy" works well, for me. Unfortunately, I didn't get a deer this season and they got no use. Never-the-less, they have a position of display, on one of our living room shelves. Nothing fancy...but I wish I'd bought 100 of them.

Great way to start my morning Doc B and jmh. Cool knives Doc and of course the trusty 72. jmh the color of your fixed blade handle is perfect for the green in the plants. ::tu:: ::tu::

Blind Horse Knives which is now L.T. Wright Knives.. Called a Brumby Lite.. D2 steel.. Nice in hand..
