I agree with everyone else, NICE Challenge!
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Here is an oldie. Kind of rare for a curved stamp in this pattern I think. The master blade is not sharp really. The pen blade is. I think they are the factory edges. The punch says pat app for. I'm guessing its about 110 yrs old. Very strong snap and half stops. I'm tempted to clean up the bolsters and oil it up but can't bring myself to do it.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
There are some rare knives posted in this thread, and there are some crazy rare knives. Galvanic posted a gramesville. I've been lucky enough to see a few up close. I don't want to say id chop off a pinky for one but I do have another just like it on the other hand. Just sayin. Speaking of that here is a walden co-op I think mike expressed interest in. Must of slipped through his net. Sorry for the bad pic. Not easy with three little ones running around.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
cato, I have an old E. Weck too, but mine is stamped E. Weck & Son. .... Yours is E. Weck & Co.
I looked in a couple books, couldn't find a mention of different stamps.

I don't know. I'll have to keep an eye out for more info.
Also, your pile side tang is stamped. Mine is not.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
Thank you, James. I wish I could answer that for you.
Goins has a little write up about Weck, but doesn't mention Schrade.

Joe, it looks just like a 2261. I read the company was based in Brooklyn. Had a few patents for straight razors. The principle owner died around 1922. That is when the son took over. I'm guessing that is when the name changed to CO.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
Here is an English jack, curved stamp. This is a pretty cool old knife. Also I asked a good friend about E.Weck. He told me Edward and George Schrade were friends. George started out in manhattan, Edward was in Brooklyn at the same time. Also schrade had a factory in soligen Germany, where Edward was from1912-1916. Seems like back then everyone was somehow associated in the cutlery world.
