Ken, Beautiful pictures! The wild flowers have been especially beautiful in my part of Texas this year. We have tried having roses, iris's, and other flowers but the deer eat them as fast as they bloom. Here are some flowers not yet eaten.Mumbleypeg wrote:Took these pictures today while on my daily rounds.

Good looking dog, Ken. Do you use him in hunting? We had to give our last two dogs away (golden retrievers), when we went overseas, to Guam. It was like giving away your kids. I vowed to not have another dog till I wasn't moving any more. I've been debating getting another golden retriever...or a golden lab...I really would like to have a buddy for dove hunting.Mumbleypeg wrote:My deer repellent.RalphAlsip wrote:Ken, Beautiful pictures! Not a hunter. He’s an Akbash Dog, a livestock guard dog breed. His name is ”Big Dog”. He lives outside and he’s on duty 24/7, and constantly patrolling at night. During the day he lays under a tree a lot but he’s not usually asleep. I frankly don’t know when he sleeps.Doc B wrote:Good looking dog, Ken. Do you use him in hunting? Indeed! And thanks. Never any trouble and a joy to be around, they keep me smiling. They do like attention though!Quick Steel wrote:Wonderful canines.

My hunting dogs are labs. If I take them for a swim, Big Dog won’t go in the water with them - he runs along the bank and barks while they’re swimming. Here’s a picture of Big Dog with my 70 lb Labrador Retriever. It will give you some perspective on size. The Lab's color is "fox red" which may be what you're calling a "golden lab".

Ken, It looks like Big Dog would be capable of repelling many things.Mumbleypeg wrote:My deer repellent. He weighs in at about 115 lbs.
