The other evening one of the local news stations out of Panama City proudly announced the NRA was about to go "belly up". They reported the NRA is bankrupt, blah, blah, blah... The liberal spin on the Ch. 11 reorganization, because of the agenda-ed actions the Attorney general of NY, was not part of the story. ::shrug:: Imagine that. ::hmm::
This type of reporting gives false information to the general public and furthers Biden's promise to "beat the NRA". The NRA has been on the front lines of the battle for the life of the 2nd Amendment for as long as I have been a member and I'm sure years before also. I became an annual member sometime in the '60's and a Life Member on May 27, 1971 and have never regretted supporting them and being informed of what is happening in the political arena concerning my 2nd Amendment rights!

I took this oath on 27June1962. There was no expiration date attached or implied.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

If you want to get literal about it you will note it says I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;

Thank you for posting this. I am in support of the NRA. I have had my disagreements with some of the leadership, but I do believe the NRA has done far more to help firearm owners than anyone or any other organization (including GAO). If you do not agree with the NRA, then don't support them!!!!
Thanks again Mumblypeg for your post, I am 100% behind you.

Y’all know that Ithaca shotguns are my first love when it comes to firearms. Well, one of the Christmas presents my wife got me was a reproduction of a vintage Ithaca sign. So since I’m dabbling in some woodworking (I’m not very good by any means) I thought I’d try my hand at making a “vintage” display for it. Looking on line I found some things folks were doing and I decided to do my variation of it. it’s made to sort of resemble an old crate side or lid. I cut a rabbet the thickness of the sign in the two stiles and the sign slides in from the top. I distressed it some to make it look like it had been knocked around, and all in all I’m pleased with the look. It ain’t perfect by any means but it was fun turning 1 big long pine 2x4 into this!
here it is, beginning to end.

The NRA bankruptcy filling is a result of the anti-NRA words and actions of the NY AG and his co-conspirators.

The NRA intends to reorganize as a non-profit based in Texas.

The NY AG is obviously fighting the filing.

I just wish Kabar would move out of NY. I really hate supporting the State of NY in any form. My purchase of NEW Kabars has really dropped in the last 2 years.

Great post, Ken!

Over 20 years ago I started working on an NRA Lifetime membership, but then decided it was more important to contribute more often. Since then I have been doing 2 year memberships so I don't forget to contribute.

You can do both. I'm an Endowment Life member, but still donate.
I also donate to NRA-PVF and NRA-ILA.

On a different subject. I was at a gun and knife show today. Ammo is extremely high.

There are many ways to subvert the 2nd Amendment. I have a feeling we will see most of them over the next four years.

There have been several posts and much discussion in this thread about Uberti single actions. I have had a Uberti Bisley for several years, and I really like it and it shoots great. Last summer I bought another one, a Single Action Army replica with 5 1/2" barrel. Both of mine are 357 caliber and I shoot cowboy shoot loads in them. Well the 2nd one started to have some issues after only 150 rounds and soon after that would not fire at all. My Bisley has the old model Colt action with fixed firing pin, and the SAA is the "New Model" with transfer bar safety system. The Uberti transfer bar system is like everybody elses in function to carry 6 rounds in the cylinder safely. But it differs in that instead of being visible from the outside of the gun like a Ruger and others, it functions by a rod that goes up thru a hole drilled vertically thru the hammer. When the hammer is cocked this rod is forced up behind the firing pin to lock the pin forward and the gun fires. Well mine quit working because something malfunctioned and the rod inside the hammer does not hold the firing pin forward. Uberti's have a 5 year warranty, so I went to Uberti's website and filled out a repair form and submitted it and they were all over it in no time. I got an email from them apologizing for the problem and sent a repair authorization number and even a PREPAID shipping label to send it to them via FEDEX. So I sent it off Friday and we will see how long it takes. It is now at the Benelli service center in Maryland. Looks to me like their customer service is top notch. I have sent other brands of guns in for factory service, but this is the first one where they prepaid the shipping. The FEDEX counter person said the shipping and extra insurance would have cost me $35-$40 if I had paid for it. Like I said, we will see how long they have it and I will will report when I get it back.
