I liked the handle, but the blade was really light on this model....

That's way cool, TOPDOG! Very nice..GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 12:12 am This fixed blade was handmade buy a blacksmith in Hungry. I met him while travelling over there and bought several pieces from him. It has a Damascus blade, with a high carbon edge forge welded to the Damascus. The ram's head pommel was forged by him as well. The stag handles are not the greatest stag I have ever seen, but mediocre stage is like a mediocre day fishing (
after calling sick
). I went to his forge with him and got to watch him at work. He made a knife for me in about 30 minutes, forged right in front of my eyes, then gave it me as a gift
A great (
maybe the best?
) part of the trip....

I should have picked up one of the GEC fixed blades 10 years ago. These days everything GEC makes is scarfed up by flippers and marked up 300%.

Cool did you make those?

I bought the moss agate blade and the Elk antler. Then put it together myself. The obsidian knife I just bought as is in Bend OR. Native artist did the work. Thanks.

This Japanese made Damascus knife is unmarked as to its creator or location. The workmanship looks first rate to me. The almost 5" blade is set of by a full tang covered in a lustrous hardwood.

Yes, Ken, there is a very nice taper to the tang as it approaches the rear of the handle. Also the blade edge is exquisitely sharp. Very exceptional.
