Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Once upon a time I had an Iver Johnson .32 caliber top break revolver. IIRC it was what was known as the “third model”. I parted ways with it at least 10 years ago. Sorry, I don’t have a picture of it but here’s one from the web (the one I had was blued).

Yep.... The Iver Johnsons looked an aweful lot like the S&Ws.....Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:51 pm Once upon a time I had an Iver Johnson .32 caliber top break revolver. I would imagine that some of the gunsmiths from S&W went over to IJ and helped them design their pistols for a little higher pay OR a good hand greasing...... LOL.

A childhood buddy's grandfather had a pair of Smith & Wessons like that, but they had a grip safety. Neat handguns...

Those are some mighty fine top breaks! And Mike and Byrd, I’m with y’all. I love guns in pieces. I don’t know why but I really enjoy taking them down and putting them back together. I’d love to find some parts bags like y’all have run upon!

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
When I was young and buying my first handgun (S&W Model 66-2 4") the dealer had an old, long-barreled top-break .22LR revolver that was in excellent condition in the display case. I was interested, but couldn't resist the allure of that powerful, new, modern, Model 66. I wish I could travel back and check out that revolver...

I have not tried to fire this one. She is very tight and the 5 rounds of 32 S&W are what came with little revolver. If I had some ammo loaded as the original I would give it a try. I would venture this thing might have been loaded with black powder originally.

I think I've posted this one before but it certainly belongs here. A S & W safety Hammerless chambered for 32 SW. I have a box of 32 SW but haven't worked up the nerve to try it.
Seen enough of hospitals this year.
Just noticed it looks like all three 32 S & W's posted have the same grip panels.

Very cool old pistols.
Would the lower two be considered parlor pistols?

Any time I have an oldie like that, or one with any questions at all about its safety or reliability, I take it to a competent gunsmith. Doesn’t cost much to get it inspected and a reply of either “Good to go”, or “I don’t recommend it”.steve99f wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 11:12 pm I think I've posted this one before but it certainly belongs here. Those are very cool JKB! What’s the story on them? We’d love to hear it, I know I would.Jacknifeben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 9:08 pm Found some 22 shorts, going to put some leather gloves and glasses on and shoot them.
