Pulled out the Buck 313 Muskrat this morning and dropped it in my pocket (back to one EDC). I like the Camillus/Buck design of the 313 - a lot of blade in a thin, low-profile package that carries quite nicely. The comparison shot shows how a 313 compares in height to a similar era 301. OH

Knifetime, that CS Canoe of yours has blades that nestle down nicely for a great carry feel too. Very nice! OH

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Ok, I'll get to today's carry, which won't shock anybody. Thought I'd share this first though...
Went ski touring in New Hampshire a short while ago. Old logging roads give great access.

The area we went to allowed fires. I took along this old war horse, an old Schrade H-15. I'm really digging this knife in the woods.

I think I mentioned that my son made me a sheath for it for Christmas. If I didn't here it is. If I did, here it is again. I dig the sheath more than the knife and my kid more than the sheath.

And no, the blade isn't as recurved as it looks in that shot. Blame the wear on the patina.
While I'm dallying and going astray from the daily carry focus of the thread, I'll mention another. Here's what happens when you take a Case 316-5, and mix it with some files, a stone and a couple of beers...

Case 316-5 (drop point) by Pinnah, on Flickr
I like the drop point better and its a lot thinner than it used to be. Went through tonight's squash pretty easy so I jest used it. But I'm not carrying it and that's what I'm getting to...
Today's carry, like most days.

BTW, I'm reminded just how friendly this place is. If you're reading this, take it as the compliment that it is meant to be.

Gard, one of my fondest memories of ski touring happened skiing out from Sawyer Pond (middle of nowhere New Hampshire). I was third person in line. Grouse exploded out of the snow at the feet of the second skier. Grouse laid low for the first skier but musta gotten sick of it on the second. Fun to watch my buddy do the heebie-jeebie dance with skis and full pack on.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Well after many years of carrying an 8OT, I decided to set my current one aside and i've been carrying this one for the past couple of weeks. I converted this from a Camillus Cub Scout knife into a three blade equal end stockman and then added a pair of toasted elk stag grips. It's a tad shorter then an 8OT, but pretty much carries the same. Still feels a little strange when I pull it out of my pocket though.

WB I could have looked at that knife all day and never guessed it once was a Cub Scout knife and I've got a wool sack full of em. Very nicely done!
