Hey, thanks gringo. I looked up Kachina and Thunderbird in Wikipedia, but your leads are much better.
I've got them on my favorites to review later. Thanks again.

I don't know anything about rocks but I picked this geode up at a garage sale a while back. The "rock Lady" at our local trade day tells me it's Vera Cruz amythest and is valued at $80-$125. Not bad for a quarter, huh? She says she will sell it for me but I like the looks of it on the shelf over my work bench. I should probably sell it, ya think?

Nice thunderegg Bill - It does have value - lots of them in gift shops here with small
mining scenes done in pewter. They can be very large and cost thousands. You have a
very nice one in a great color.

I guess all you could call this is the product of a sick mind ::paranoid:: . I bought this folding bayonet at a sale for $1. While sitting out in the 100+ temp in my shop, it struck me. ::facepalm::
I shouldn't even show you this.Don't worry, it's only temporary. I didn't hurt it.

A fascinating story Gringo.
Thanks for posting the link!

The last line of the story said. “Schmeling became one of Germany’s most revered sports figures, not only for his singular athletic accomplishments in the 1930s but for his humility, discipline and character.”

“…humility, discipline and character.” A far cry from many of today’s star athletes!
It is remarkable that no one even knew about Max saving the two Jewish boys until 1989 when one of the boys invited him to Las Vegas to thank him. Pretty cool!

Thank you for the link gringo. Schmeling is one of the greats in my opinion. I bought his autobiography and then wrote to him. He graciously sent me the two signed photos, one for me and one for me son.

Joe Louis and Max Schmeling.
