I thought this knife cleaned up pretty well and my collection is really lacking in the EO department.

I don't think one of these has been posted yet. A Berkshire Cutlery Co USA. Goins says this was a tang stamp used by Simmons Hardware c.1939.

When I wrote the book on Northfield I found a great newspaper article about Ray Platts, son of Charles, that displayed an awesome board of Platts Northfield knives. Would love to find that display!!!!!!!

But I learned that Ray made those knives in the 20's thru 40's I found this one on eBay and really like it. It is a Boy's knife single blade stamped "Platts" over Northfield over CT. One of those Hen's teeth knives we all love to find. Sorry about the poor pic. I just snapped a quick one with my phone this morning.

Here's one that's had a few year's of use, Northfield Knife Co....still has good snap to it and if I'm not mistaken the blade's could be hand forged...I'm trying to resist the urge to do a little sharpening on it...

From BL4: Kruse & Bahlman Hdw was a hardware wholesale firm from 1889-1962 in Cincinnati, OH.

Wow, Bob what a Northfield that is. Beautiful. That is a lovely example of a great knife pattern.
Also, PA Knives what a find that knife was. Thats a great looking old jack that encapsulates a neat piece of history.

I picked this up at a flea market last Saturday.
The entire knife appears to be made of steel.

Master blade tang stamp:
DOLPHIN/CUTLERY Co/NEW YORK (underlined)/ a faint 4th line is partially obscured by the handle but it appears to say GERMANY, the same as the tang stamp in the secondary blade.

Secondary blade tang stamp:
DOLPHIN/CUTLERY Co/NEW YORK (underlined)/GERMANY

LG4 says Dolphin Cutlery Co. as a wholesaler importer in New York. He dates them at 1918-1920s.

Goins has a bit more info on Dolphin, including the officers of the corporation and the address of their first and second locations.
Goins dates Dolphin C. 1912-1919.

It was a very pleasant surprise when I got home and cleaned it up and could see what it was. I bought several knives from a guy and he threw this knife in with them. It turns out that this knife may have been worth more than any of the other knives I got from him.

got this of bay thought it was a single blade but turned out to be 2

didnt show the broke one but it has a rare stamp not sure who made it

but someone here will .....

Goins lists a Moore Handley Hardware Co. in Birmingham Alabama.
He dates it c. 1882 to present, but pocket knives discontinued in 1962.

He said there was some made by Camillus with the crossed swords & Sword Brand stamp.

Nice that the broken pen blade has a good tang stamp.

I think Moore-Handley had some knives made by New York Knife, Boker, Schrade and Camillus, according to LG-IV.

It has been claimed by others that Winchester also made knives for them.

A highly collected local brand in Alabama.
