The guy lives in the same town I do. He is going to come over and look at my collection. Be the first person to ever see it. He had some really rare cat wrench knives also. Should be fun to talk knives.

I'll revive another old thread.Very unusual J.Pritzlaff Hdw .Co.,Milwaukee. 2 7/8" serpentine doctors knife.Etched J.P.H.Co.Everkeen.Pickbone,unusual construction on the cap end.Talking to a couple other "old knife guys" we concluded that it was likely made by Warrick.

Here is a slightly serpentine Keen Kutter.

I'm going to play the curmudgeon here just for a little fun. There were so many 'dedicated" patterns in the old days and I just wonder how many were actually used for their named purpose.
For instance. I wonder how many:
-Doses of medicine were measured with the spatula blade, or pills "busted"?
-Muskrats were skinned with a Muskrat blade?
-Plumbers used a plumber's whittler? What would a plumber whittle anyway?
-Carpenters used a Carpenter's whittler?
-Whittlers whittled with a whittler?
-Trappers used a trapper?
-Cattlemen used a cattle knife? (What for?)
-Farmers speyed an animal with a spey blade? (My father-in-law did "nut" a pet pig with his pocketknife.)
-Chicken farmers caponized a rooster with a "nutter"?
-Gentlemen used a moustache comb?
-Mechanics turned a nut with a wrench knife?
-Cock fighters sawed off a rooster spur?
-I won't even go into multi-multi-bladed SAK's !!

Oh I'm sure all of all of those things were done but I wonder if often enough to warrant dedicated blade etching and such. Looks like a good way to market Christmas presents. I'm just amusing myself here, but I own seven, antique "Timber scribes" and none shows any wear. J.O'.

Very recently, this “physician/doctor” pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it definitely turned out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is a ROBESON, two blades, two tang stamps, 3” closed, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp is in the BLOCK style. The main blade front tang stamp says, “ROBESON (over) SHUREDGE (over) U.S.A." The main blade back tang stamp says, “622195”, the pattern number. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
