The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Smitty, that is a FINE lking WHAT-A-KNIFE!
I don't know what it is about these "steelies" that
makes me pursue them, but I'm not complaining.
Thanks Skip. They're Camillus, They're Stainless, They're fun. Good enough for me.

You guys are a influence on this ol guy,now going to have to get one and check it out. Really like the single blade piece,it looks like itβs nice and slim and would ride in the pocket nicely. And a Camillus like you said

They are light in the pocket JP. Kinda like those SAK Solo single blades. If I'm carrying one, I have to check from time to time that it's still there.

This was waiting for me at the post office this morning. It is a CAMILLUS DURA-TOOL, single blade, 4" closed, double line tang stamp, all metal, hawkbill pruner pocket knife. It has a VERY crisp half stop and a VERY wicked snap. It is in EXCELLENT condition. I gave it a very minor cleaning, took some pictures and here it is.

A good looking Dura-Tool Hawk Bill Skip. They do have some awesome snap, and some very positive lock up of the liner lock. Congrats! You might think about posting it in the Steelies thread. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=72358

A.....
Thank you Smitty.
Not as fine as yours, but I'm not complaining.
I don't want to re-post each of my WHAT-A-KNIFE &
DURA-TOOL pocket knives. But, I will post a group
picture(s) of them as soon as I'm able, under the
"Steelies" topic.

I love the American made Camillus knives. Here are some of mine. All Dura tooo
Good looking group OSCAR. So far, I have all but the Dura-Tool electrician. Have found a couple, but they were in very rough shape. I'll wait until a good one comes along.

Papa Bones, I got mine awhile back and they were easier to find then. One or two of them came from sellers here on AAPK.

This morning, my visit to the post office produced this hawkbill pruner, pattern or style of pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a CAMILLUS, "DURA-TOOL", one blade, 4" closed (not including the bail), two tang stamps, all metal, hawkbill pruner, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp (double line) says, "CAMILLUS (over) New York (over) U.S.A. The main blade back tang stamp is the number "1" It appears that a spare blade from a CAMILLUS, number "1", pattern or style of pocket knife was used. The main handle side says, "DURA-TOOL" This is my second CAMILLUS, "DURA-TOOL", hawkbill pruner, pattern or style of pocket knife. My other CAMILLUS "DURA-TOOL", hawkbill pruner, pattern or style of pocket knife, was previously posted under this topic or thread, back on Monday, October 4, 2021. The blade has a VERY CRISP half stop, a NASTY opening snap and a NASTY closing snap. It is in EXCELLENT condition. It needed NO cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
