Picked up this boys knife 3 1/4", gorgeous bone on this one. Knife has seen little use and despite some cleaning still shows some original blade grind marks.

You are right, that is gorgeous bone. That is a nice one!

Good looking knife, handles are excellent, never get tired of looking at those.

Nothing like Indian Trail bone though I call it Worm Groove - guess it is the same lingo as I have heard both - I know other cutleries used that jigging from my own knives which are not Catt Cut Co and indeed that jigging is my favorite!! Question is based on the lingo - what did the original cutleries call that jigging in the original catalogs?? Curious to know if anybody has that info...

Thanks guys. Lee in the old catalogs Cattaraugus called these handles Stag. I think Indian Trail is a modern collectors term and is referring to the Cattaraugus Indian when they say "Indian trail bone". that's just my interpretation.

Roger that's a beauty and Barry man what a lineup!! Love the etched ones the best. Beautiful bone. I agree with Barry, I've never seen the reference to worm groove or Indian trail in any catalog or paperwork.

Here's an old Catt that was showing the tip of the main blade above the frame in the sellers pictures.
I knew I could fix that. I'm sure glad I won this knife. I'm partial to these large swell center pens. 3 3/4" closed.
