Thanks guys.

Monk, Yep, I'm a fan of stainless steel. GEC's 1095 is great but when you live on one island and work on another, SS is a godsend!! I love that cuban too!!

edit: Yep, the CC is 420. Nothing wrong with that imo :)

Here's my fifth GEC Northfield, the fourth in Burnt Stag. The postman dropped it off this afternoon. Came from Mike at CollectorKnives.net. GEC NF Conductor, Burnt Stag.

It is a classy little knife and the embossing on the bail really did it for me too. The only new knife I've carried was a Case Seahorse Pocket-Worn Whittler, and I put that one away when I got my Camillus 72 Scout back from Orvet. When I got the Case XX USA 31SAB I couldn't make up my mind as to which to carry, so I carry them both. If I had to guess, I would say that I will not carry the GEC's, they're pretty special to me.

I was showing the new Conductor I just got to my son and noticed that the bail does not seem right. Does anyone have a GEC NF Conductor that they can compare their bail to mine and see if it is the norm? Here is a pic of the bail. It almost looks as if the pin hole has been drilled at an angle causing a mis-alignment of the bail. Thanks a lot.

TJ,

Even with the great picture its still hard to say?? The pin looks reasonably square to me. I do have a Conductor and although the bail appears more square, there is so little of the pin its hard to say. To me if you look at the gap on the right side of the bail, its says the bail is not square. If mine, I'd carefully square the bail if its bothersome.. I supppose GEC do could do it as well.

Very nice knife..... BH

Say Bob; I notice two of your Genuine Stag 23L's have swedges and one does not. I have three also and only one has a swedge. Do you know the story behind the difference in blade style? Does anybody know? ::hmm::
