Marco, what you are seeing in IMan's photo are Becker/KaBars. There is a range of colorful handle scales that many use to dress up their Beckers. I haven't seen Iman's handle covers before.

This one was made from a railroad spike with an”H” designate which is hardened for corners. The wood scale are from an old ship that was in a bay in Maine for over150 years.
Wow, totally unique and very cool "spike" knife, Dog!
150 years old, hmmm, almost as old as some of us!
Thanks for showing us this one!

Any thoughts on the original factory BKT handles? Love 'em? Hate 'em?

I am a sucker for Rail Road Spike knives... I like it G-Dog!!!!
This is a fixed blade that my grandfather made way back when out of an old sawmill blade. Made a sheath with what he could scrounge up I guess. It ain’t pretty but he made it to use. He passed in the early 70’s and My mom had it in the drawer in the kitchen and told me they always used it to clean fish because it was always razor sharp. Dad passed it to me about 20 years ago. Good to know where I got my love of knife making and collecting from!

Thanks dog! I love the homemade stuff too. Papa never had much but he could make about anything it seemed like. I’ll pass it down for sure!

Passing it on is a great tradition! All that I have of my dad's vast amount of stuff (tools, bikes, motorcycles, an antique car collection... all gone ) .... ... All I have left is my Case XX that he gave me when I was a bratty 'lil kid. And all I have from my uncle is a large beautiful western lock-back folder So passing it on keeps a connection as one generation passes into another...

You are right dog! I feel very lucky to have stuff from my grandad and dad & mom to pass on. My dad was a custom gun builder so I have some rifles to pass on. He also did oil paintings and made 3 quilts, and I have some of each to pass on to grandkids. Mom made many quilts and doilies and such that will be passed on. Just keeping that memory alive is a great thing to pass to heirs imho. I tell my grandkids about my grandfathers and grandmothers whenever I can because hey, that’s where we came from!!
