Joe, looks to me like you've been raiding my shop! I use those old tools and buy more when I find them, but not to collect them. I put them to work. Better quality than most you can find today. And usually cheaper too.

:D Thanks, Ken. I would love to see your shop.
I will say I never had any qualms about using any of my old tools when I was working.
Always tried to convince younger guys who had few tools to stay out of the hardware stores and H-D and hit the flea markets
for their hand tools. The country is practically awash in old tools for cheap. ::nod::

Joe, you reminded me I forgot to mention one of the best assets of old tools - they have experience! I need all the help I can get. ::nod::

FRJ. Love the right angle drill chuck. The bone folding ruler is great but I've only seen them in wood and brass. Fancy wood slide rulers are collected more than the all plastic.

Cool finds, Joe. I was in an old tool phase for a bit, dangerous territory. You'll run out of places to put things. At least with knives, they are a little smaller, but I guess you can run out of room for them also... ::undecided::

I have this vintage Iroquois freight pry hand tool. Missing a claw? Thinking about making new oak pieces for it. I have the wood. Or maybe wrap with para chord which I have not done? Just to say I finely fixed it.

I see that it is a Bridgeport "Iroquois" Tool. Could have been the hammer, hatchet, pry bar. which appears to be missing.

Here are a few of photos from my recent travels.

First up is a couple of pictures of the car President Kennedy was riding in when he was killed in Dallas. It is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.

Finally, here's a road sign I spotted near Detroit for the Telegraph Road. That's the road that inspired Mark Knopfler to write the song "Telegraph Road". If you aren't familiar with the song, here's a link below. It's one of my all time favorite rock tunes.

Looks like you had a good trip Phil. ::tu:: There's a covered bridge close to home here that the county/state rebuilt a few years ago.

Great photos Phil, looks like an enjoyable trip.

Last week I was chipping rock with this bit in a hilti for a good part of the day and it somehow managed to sharpened itself to a fine point. It was MUCH more dull and rounded beforehand. I noticed when I was putting it up, never seen anything quite like it.

here is the actual carriage Lincoln took to Ford's theater. It's in the Studebaker museum in Indiana neat place. They also have the car from the Muppet movie with a driver's seat in the trunk, kept below the body lines.

That looks quite relaxing Eustace ::nod:: ::tu:: .... Enjoy!!!

Very cool flower TF ::tu:: ... Amazing that it only blooms once a month - we used to have "Moon" flowers that only opened each night but that was years ago before we moved up to NE...

Mr Watch, I think it would take me about a week of steady work to cut my lawn with that little mower! :D Pretty cool.

After 14 years, I decide to set my workbench back up. I took it down when I bought a new pick up that I wanted to park in the garage in 2004.

While setting it up this weekend, I found some old tools that have been handed down to me.

The old Stanley try square has been in regular use all my life. It was my Dad's, and I remember using it as a kid in the 1960s (and it was old then).

Nice old mower and I bet you don't PUT Sharon to do anything. She looks like the Boss.
