Bought these cheap automatic opener strap cutter knives with other stuff on Amazon to try out as a "backup" knife--they look identical to what CountyComm sells as the "Rapid ResQ". Because they're $8 a pair, I don't trust them as much as I do my Benchmade and Gerber strap cutters. But I figure they'll be good twine cutters that I can clip to my zipper pull.

These will probably be replaced soon by the Hubertus Profi Rescue Tool. What's strange is that Amazon even allows these to be sold, as they are, 100% switchblades/autos. Arizona Custom Knives, despite the fact that the Profi Rescue Tool isn't really a "knife" (in fact, it has the same blade style) requires me to fill out the Automatic Knives Certification Form".

We have very similar taste in our knives, Tony, and this one today is another example of that, I love the shape of this knife, the black/white contrast in colors, the G-10 covers, and it's a linerlock to boot, checks a lot of boxes for me!

I failed to comment on that beautiful bowie you posted, the one you're going to give a polish to and put into it's display, it reminds me of this model from England I scored a couple of yrs. back!

The blade is 8 1/2" and it's OAL is 14", and it's marked "C.F.K. CUTLERY COMPANY / 1095 HIGH CARBON / HANDMADEKNIVES". It's the handle shape that causes the reminder for me!

Well, if it looks half as good as the photo when you get it, you’ll have a gorgeous knife there, David!
The tracking now shows it not 35 miles away from me in the Fort Worth USPS Distribution Center, however there is no
expected delivery date. The tracking number (below) is the one used coming from New Zealand.

I don't think you have need for concern, David, some of those carriers overseas fail to update their tracking and you get messages like this, believe me I've seen it. If it's just 35 miles away I think you'll get it soon, it's likely in it's final sorting in Fort Worth before delivery. Not to worry, buddy!

Thanks Mark ... I was gonna purchase the Krate OTF knife RedRider posted in "What Are You Carrying..." several days ago, but after thinking about it, wanted a bigger blade. His is a very fine knife, be happy to have one, but I already have several D2 steel blades. The Swordfish will be my first S35VN, and I like flippers also. Your pics look like you have big hands also ... may be why we both like the type of knives we do.

I really like that CFK ... that blade is awesome, and the diamond shape on the handle is superb with it!! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks, Tony, and yes, I do have big hands!

The fact that you like the blade and the diamond shape on the handle on my CFK pretty much confirms we like the same knives, and for similar reasons, too!
We're the best, Tony! lol!

Thanks to you as well, Tim!

It was one I spotted on ebay, and after looking over all the seller's other listings chose it.
It's obviously nice and BIG, and it feels great when you're holding it!

Not a knife but related. Just scored this Benchmade Torx driver from GPK. It has the smaller T5 to T10 bits for modern knives. Now I can add thread locker to all those tiny screws to prevent loss and reverse pocket clips if needed.

Ok, not a knife per se, but it’s sharp and it has cutters to cut wood, sooooo…

I’ve been looking hard for a Record 044 plough plane. They haven’t been made in years, they’re English, they’re hard to come by on this side of the pond, and everyone wants one, so usually out of my reach. Well today after several ebay offers had been rejected I was just about to turn my limited ADD attention to the next shiny thing, but decided to take one more look and there it was! A shed find from England, all the cutters, both sets of fence arms, the fence, and the depth stop (which is usually one of the first things lost). And on top of that it had a very attractive starting bid and make an offer option. Long story short it’s been liberated from the King’s realm and is finding its freedom in America! ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

Here she is. A few scars, a little wear, but all there.

With the new driver I was able to tighten screws on 10 knives and reverse clips on 2. Not sure I've justified the $75 price yet but whatever.

That’s awesome. I can see how it would be very useful. Any time I have to tighten a torx screw on a knife it seems I never have the right size. Very cool.

It's hard to find those small bits. Home Depot didn't have anything smaller than T10. My LGS had Fix It Stix that went to T8 as I recall but was 2x the cost of the Benchmade. Granted they came with actual preset torque wrenches which would cool but I don't have the torque specs on the various knives anyway.

Picked up two equal end Cigar Jacks this afternoon.

First one is a Robi Klaas Solingen Kissing Cranes with MOP scales & a cork screw.

Second one is? I forgot the name of this brand. It has the two dancing Dutch kids in the stamp. ::hmm::
Also with a cork screw. Anyways, the handles are supposed to be stag. ::hmm:: Does it look like real stag to you guys? ::shrug:: ::hmm::

Thanks for looking! ::handshake:: :D
