I guess you could call it a collection although that wasn't the intent. I just wanted files that I could use and they can be had for not much money and the pile grew. Some are rough and need cleaning but they all work.

I think "that is the story of my life! and maybe "no truer words were ever spoken" I think back years ago when I was a "young'un" and if you told me I would someday be hunting around flea markets and yard sales for old rusted up files... I would have to have said you was crazy! ... That being said... I find a great joy in finding an old file marked "Made in Sweden" and then cleaning it up and making it look good again... I must be turining into and OLD FART ...

The sweet relief when that $%^# screw plug you have been trying to get out for 7 days finally breaks free! I tried all the tricks in my arsenal - PB Blaster, Evap-o-Rust, heating torch, big square-shanked screwdriver torqued with a Crescent wrench. Also tried to drill it out to put in a screw extractor, but couldn't get a drill bit on it due to it being sunken down in the hole. Then I finally ordered some Liquid Wrench. Soaked it overnight and it finally came out this morning. It was really hard to be patient with this one.

Now I can finally move on with the restore.

This arrived yesterday....Stanley No. 71 router plane. This is a type 8, made sometime between 1909 to 1915.

These came home with me Saturday. All were on a table at a yard sale.

Looks like you did well, the nail puller is a handy tool!

That anvil is brass. I have another one that is copper.
Apparently much harder to come by but I stumbled onto mine at a flea market last year.
Much softer copper anvil is on the right.

Recent pick-ups. Steel, Brass and aluminum.

Look like maybe some sort of tool for seating something then clamping or squeezing something over the seated item.

Thanks for the input Mate, ... I am going to have to look it over again and make sure I did not miss any maker's mark, maybe I need to hit it with a wire wheel... there could be a name or # something stamped on it...

I finished up the Stanley 10 1/4 Carriage makers plane my sister picked up for me a couple of weeks ago. I read where the No. 10 1/4 and the No. 85 scraper plane were the only two "tilting handle" planes that Stanley produced.

A sledgehammer and some black smith's tongs...I just got a 13 lb. version of this sledgehammer...needs to be cleaned up.

Just picked these up for cleanup and eventual use ...and by use, I mean collecting dust and maybe rust again in my tool room ...
