Thank you! I am fortunate to have several nice lakes close to home. My favorite lake is a mile away.doglegg wrote:You are a fortunate man if those are local photo's. Love the eagle and hawk especially.basser5 wrote:I really enjoy sitting back and viewing this thread.

Time in the woods is a revelation of the man.
They reveal who I am when I am alone; the true me.
Our world surrounds us with artificiality where people posture for position and hierarchy.
In the woods there is no pretension; just pure, raw, and real life.
I go there to recalibrate, to calculate, to think, to be tested, and to be inspired.
Handmade milkweed cordage, harvested tinder bundle, ferro rod fire, boiled tea, and knives. Always calming to have knives in hand.

Beautiful images of the birds, Tim. I especially like that second shot of the Bald Eagle and the second photo of the Red Tail in flight. Based on my efforts, even with a good camera those photos are not easy to get.
Tony - nothing like a bit of fire and tea or coffee on an outting in the woods. I like that kind of thing myself.
Doglegg - fine looking goats!

Nice photos dogleg.
I'm amazed you could ever get that close, or do you have one of those big telescopic lenses like Basser5 uses ?

Yes sir. I have a secluded spot about 3/4 mile walk from my house that I like to visit at least once a month. It usually involves practicing an a outdoor skill, plus a fire with tea or coffee.Dinadan wrote:Beautiful images of the birds, Tim. Amazing photos gentlemen, just outstanding. OH

These hang out around Alpine Wy and down by the road. The Game Warden comes along several times a day and runs them back up the hill but when he leaves they return. We were with in about 50 yards of them most of the time.philco wrote:Nice photos dogleg.![]()

Last week I showed my favorite goat photo from Jackson Wy. This is my favorite Big Horn Sheep photo. They winter on Miller's Butte just outside of Jackson.

Re: Outdoorsman Thread
doglegg,
Had to go back a page and look at the goat again, they are both great photos. There must be some fine law abidin' folks in Wyoming, if you know what I mean.
There must be more food available close to the road.

Re: Outdoorsman Thread
Thanks for all the gracious comments. The main thing I like about Jackson is the abundance of wild life and most of the folks there seem to respect them. These Big Horns will come and try to lick the salt off your car.
