Colonel, you need to post that in the "Cut Myself" thread.

Very nice Queen - the tang stamp is pretty cool too. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Gorgeous knife bro!!
Based on your low post ount (only 19) I'm taking a shot here that you might be new to older collectible knives....with that in mind I'm going to suggest opening one blade all the way to relieve the pressur on the spring.
When both blades are on the same spring and opened at the "half-stop" point it places extra pressure on the spring and may lead to breaking.
I learned that here on AAPK just a few years ago when I delved into the vintage knife arena!

Move over and let me have a seat on the drool bench. I too think that Queen is a real beauty.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
That is a nice old Queen, Accujohn!
I have read that too, but it seems that makers of knife display boxes do not know it. Recently I bought this Queen, and I am guessing that it has spent the past thirty odd years in this case. Some of the color from the liner material has leached over into the downside handle bone. No half stops, so the springs were at full tension. It still has good snap.TripleF wrote:Gorgeous knife bro!!

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I think the "opening two blades on the same spring" comes from the CAMILLUS stainless steel military utility knife. With the U.S. utility, the spring did have a tendency to break. This is the knife I'm talking about:
