Nice knife Kirk ::tu:: ::tu:: ... I agree with Dan ::nod:: - sure looks like real tortoise shell to me and Humphrey's did make some nice knives - I believe the gouges are unfortunately where carpet beetles were doing some feeding at one time - often seen on horn handles but definitely can happen to tortoise shell too - so my money is on tortoise shell (celluloid doesn't taste good to carpet beetles :lol: )...

This one might be a bit more blade tired than my other three Granton's. But I will take it!

This creates better food "release" and prevents food from shredding and tearing to keep the food as intact as possible. New ‘ivory’ one is here! Making my Granton collection four now.
It has a gouge on one side... And the blade is a bit more narrow ( used ) All in all super rare, and especially in this color!
