If you ever have a chance to visit St. Augustine, Florida... Head over to Vilano Beach. The St. Johns river has an inlet there, and you find those fossilized teeth daily by the hand full.
The larger ones (over three inch/Megalodon teeth) can go from a few hundred dollars up into the thousands.
I dated a girl there that made very good money searching for, and selling them to a local tourist shop.
Look them up... You might have a very nice score there Mr. Watch!

Do the chips go to a pulp mill or get used somewhere for mulch?

Those chips are going to a pellet mill to be made into wood pellets that will be shipped from Port Panama City overseas. All this wood was volunteer growth, it's kind of a trade off. Not much money per ton but an almost clean slate to replant more trees, except for the stumps. The next step at our place will be harvesting the trees that have been planted for 30 plus years. Those include poles and saw timber as well as some pulp wood. The chipper is used on all the limbs and unmarketable timber being sent to the pellet mill.
We will plan to replant Long Leaf Pines is a year or so. These pines are of the variety known as "Improved Slash". Miss Joy and I will never live long enough to see the next planting be harvested, well maybe an initial thinning but that would be 10 or 12 years out.
Timber is a long term investment. We combined cattle and the planted pines for about 10 years due to a slightly wider row width.
There are several other pieces of equipment setting out there that are pretty serious too. A big "buncher gatherer" and a skidder plus the 18 wheelers that were in and out hauling chips all day. It's just fascinating to watch!
I was down in the big woods a few weeks ago and a timber cruiser had gone through the tracts and marked all the trees with bright orange fluorescent paint. Some with different diagonal marks, some with just a large dots. I don't know the "code" but it is a grading system for loading when harvesting, some are "A" poles, some are "B" poles, some are logs, etc.
I'll try to post a picture all along as this plays out. It's been an interesting ride.

For some reason I couldn't edit my above post? I apparently made up a term, "buncher gatherer" when it is actually "feller buncher".

Around here, that term refers to the skidder with saw that cuts and places trees in a pile.

Mr Phillip, I just posted on the outdoorman thread about cutting our Plantation Pines. Southern Pine Beetle has invested our trees. The only way to stop them is to harvest the trees. We’re also replanting with Long Leaf Pine ( Yellow Pine )

Larry, Philco asked me to post some of pictures of our tree cuttin' this mornin'. I will try to oblige and will place them in the Outdoorsman thread. I know an infestation must be a difficult thing to swallow. Sorry you're having to harvest too soon. We too intend to go back with Long Leaf. The trees we are cutting for A and B poles are over 30 years old, been thinned several times.

Merry Christmas from Downunder to all the good folks here on AAPK
Hope everyone has a safe, trouble free Christmas with loved ones.
Down here at Christmas we pretty much just "hang about".
Cheers

And a Merry Christmas to you Derek!

There are way too many nut jobs running loose that could ruin Christmas any where in the world.
Got a question for you, do y'all eat them big marsupials? There must be some good meat in those big tails.

Kind of brings to mind an old joke about the "OhNo" bird.
The males looked like that kangaroo, in a manner of speaking, and cried, "OhNo!" "OhNo!" "OhNo!" as they came in for a landing.
Otherwise, they were pretty quiet.
