Thanks Floyd!
I have several made in China Klaas knives and they are really well made so I can't wait to see how this Solingen Klaas is in comparison.
Thanks Floyd!

Very nice Smitty.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:36 pm I haven't posted much in this thread. Usually wait until I receive the item. But, I know this seller, and I am totally "STOKED"at finding this item, and at way under what a lot of places are asking for it. He shipped this morning so hopefully will be here by the end of the week.
It is a Camillus 72 Americana Whittler and was offered through the Sears Christmas Catalog in 1991. It is the standard Camillus 72 build, It has a Duck's landing on pond blade etch, It has bone handles, and there were only around 2000 produced. The one I am receiving is still in the original box, with insert and like new. I also picked up another Camillus made McGrew Hillbilly Classic (72 clone) from him, like new, with original box and papers. Got them both for under a "C-note.
Here are the sellers photos, I will post more about them when they arrive.

Cool finds Cody!

Thank you Tom.
Hate to hear you lost your LB1. Hopefully it will turn up, fingers crossed for you. You picked up a good looking replacement, but like you said, not quite the same. But still a good looker.

It was in my watch pocket. I have looked high & low. At home & at work. But it's gone.
No idea how it happened.
Did I say I'm devastated?

Better to have lost a knife of yours than a Wedding Ring like I did. Still catch h*** every so often about that........

Nice!

Always great to find a bargain. Thanks for posting. I’ll keep an eye out for them. $19 is very reasonable for an Italian made knife.cody6268 wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 8:55 pm MAC Coletellerie is an Italian firm producing inexpensive workhorses in Maniago. They are priced like a Chinese pile of junk, but they are solid knives. Most use 1.4116, which is a slight upgrade from the 420 stainless fellow Maniago cutler Antonini.
I have a couple of rope knives--while a little on the crude side, they're decent for the money.
Several Blue Ridge associated dealers carried a blunt tip rescue lockback, some fixed blades, as well as a couple of the slipjoints. Boker USA carried the same range for a couple of years, with a couple other models also. But until now, most of the catalog was sold in Europe wtih stupid shipping.
I splurged a bit for this one. SMKW had several that were $4.99, but this one was $18.99.
697E2 Electrician's knife. A big workhorse at just over 4 1/4" closed.
The "cable" blade with wire strippers has a lockback, but the partially serrated hawkbill blade is slipjoint. Kind of backwards compared to how I'd like it, but it makes sense, given they produce the model as a single blade also.
This was my only option for an affordable part-serrated hawkbill that wasn't made in China. Yes, I can get the Buck Work-Man TLC occasionally for that price, but it's a fixed blade.

I admit, I just bought these two since they'd ship with it. They're the less expensive $5 models.
Small slipjoint in blue--3 1/4" closed.

That’s a good looking knife and I am willing to bet that over time for grieving your loss, you will eventually feel the same about this replacement.
