Man o man... I would say that goes well out beyond "envelope" pushing!! But it does demonstrate those scissors are closer to shears than anything. Very handy to have in the pocket.

I'll bet the folks at Leatherman would have gotten a kick out of a picture of what it took to kill those things.

Out of curiosity, what let loose? Did you pop the pivot/rivet? I would guess the visor material folded and put the blades on opposite sides of the material and *pop* went the pivot? Or did you snap a blade? Either way, that's a really great story.
It was the pivot pin. At first I thought I'd be able to repair it but I bent the scissor blades too! Don't know my own hand strength!

I seldom ever post on this thread, because compared to you fellers, I am one boring son of a gun! There's really only one knife that I can truely call my EDC knife and has been since I was about 16. The everlasting 8OT, or atleast one of the variants of it. I do on occasion, throw another knife in one of my other pockets, but still never leave the house without the 8OT on me. It and my 15 year old Gerber multi-tool are all I ever seem to need. All the others come and go. You guys carry some wicked cool knives and i'm often tempted to do the same, but I reckon i'm just a creature of habit. ::facepalm:: I do enjoy seeing the knives ya'll carry though, there's some serious hardware posted in this thread. ::tu::
Here's pretty much my full rotation, other then a couple of NIB's, should I live so long as to need them. There have been many others lost, stolen, broken or given away over the years and the red bone handled one has been retired to desk duty. The main on it makes a perfect splinter fetchin' tool. :D

Thanks guys! I don't feel quite as much like an ol' stick in the mud as I did! :D
g-dogg, that's an 8OT that I not only wore the primary out on, but wore the handles clean off of, too. Before retiring it to desk knife status, I rehandled it in some bone that I jigged up and used Dyamondwood, turned on edge, for spacers. Only duty it sees now, is diggin out splinters and opening envelopes.

I just could not help myself but my right front pocket knife just can't be anything but the 80T that was my Grandpaw's. It is almost scary sharp...
