Saw this Rough Ryder Copperhead Trapper with the Acorn shield and it was like catnip (the shield, not the knife). Decided the price was about the same as a bottle of cheap bourbon and I didn't need the bourbon anyway so I jumped on it.

I had some Amazon gift cards, but I've gotten all the traditional knives I want for now. So I fell back to an older wish list item... The Victorinox SwissChamp XLT. I already have a Leatherman, but there is something goofy looking about the SwissChamp that tickles me. It should arrive by Tuesday. Ordered a nice leather case for it too.

I understand the attraction to it, in spite of the unreasonable number of blades. I had never liked SAK until I rehandled one recently. Now I find myself eyeing pictures of Champs and imagining what I could do with them!

All my SAK's are just to have, except one. The yellow S18 Evogrip sits on my desk and gets used occasionally for light duty tasks.

Enough of that. I came here to post a contribution to "It's In The Mail". Supposed to be here by Friday.

By the way, if anyone wants one, they are on sale right now for $12.79. (if only I had waited a couple more days. ::doh:: )

Jerry, I think you're going to like that little knife. I have that whole series and they are really nice. ::tu::

I bought the whole series of Buckshot bone too. I'm finding when Rough Ryder makes a really good knife, all the others in the series are good too.

Picked up these two this morning from eBay. It's the handles but mostly the shield. I've mentioned before that I'm a sucker for that acorn shield and for me, that doctors knife is a blast from the past.

Got it with just one bid. I guess they were all sleeping today. ::nod::
Not sure what the handles are made of. ::hmm:: Maybe horn. ::shrug::

Just bought these today. Recently I've had a liking for the Scout/Utility Knife. The Uncle Henry in the "Staglon" handles will match several Uncle Henry patterns I have. Same thing with the Old Timer. I don't have any Al Mar knives so I thought I would start with this Al Mar 40th Anniversary SERE Linerlock.

::doh:: Oh dear!!! ::doh:: Bought my first fixed blade last night. ::facepalm:: Unemployment is not good for my budget. ::doh::

This is a small, no name, hand made custom. Features: full tang 256 layer damascus steel, camel bone & wood handles, a lanyard hole & comes with a leather sheath. ::tu::

I think it was the patriotic color combination that got me. ::nod:: ::super_happy::

This will be a "walk in the woods" or "walking the dogs" carry. Nothing I'd wear in town or at work or anything like that. Just for me & just for fun. ::nod:: German carry law allows carring of fixed blades with blade lengths up to the length of 4 3/4" so I'll only be buying smaller fixed blade knives. I probably won't buy any with a blade lenght over 4 1/2" just to stay well within the limits. I already have my eyes on the next one but it will have to wait till next month. ::doh::

Is there a name for this type of knife? The seller called it a "Skinner". ::shrug:: This one has an overall length of 7.2" & a blade lenght of just 3.3" so it's pretty small but I wouldn't feel comfortable with a large fixed blade on my side anyways. I look forward to making some kind of a leather lanyard for it. If anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know. I'd appreciate the input. ::nod::

As always, thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: :D
