Seeing that Short-line really makes my day PapaPapa Bones wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:00 pm I picked this one up today. Another addition to my group. A Camillus 72, Short line, bone handle Gen 1. The blades do have wear, staining and spiders, but are tight with good snap and no wobble. The Camillus is worn on the main clip blade, but the rest of the tang stamp with the short line is distinguishable. The bone handles are tight and still have good color and has the federal style shield. I've just oiled the blades, but plan on giving her a warm mineral oil bath and cleaning up the blade wells. This makes my fourth gen 1.

Re: camillus #72
Yesterday afternoon, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the most recent example to be added to my collection. It is a CAMILLUS 72, SECOND GENERATION, three blades, two tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, swelled center, a long main blade pull/match strike, two springs, "whittler" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp (short line) says, "CAMILLUS (over) NEW YORK (over) USA" The main blade back tang stamp says "72", the pattern number. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The third blade does NOT have a half stop. The third blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The third blade does have a GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Always think of Cpl. Jerry Downen when a Camillus 72 is displayed.
Congratulations, Skip, that's a nice one.
