Just Plain Dave wrote:That watch is very clean. It appears to have an adjustment lever. You could conceivably get some of those 80 seconds down to under 60 anyhow....
Good eye Dave! I've actually already done that but the photo was taken before then. It was losing even more time so I adjusted the lever to get it where it is now. Had to stop because the screw felt like it was going to break if I twisted any harder.

Railsplitter, I like your Bunn Special railroad watch! In case you are not aware here is a link to a database where you can look up your movement's serial number.

Your Bunn Special is made for rail road time keeping. + or - 4 seconds per day. it needs to be professionally cleaned and adjusted. expect to pay over $100 plus possible new main spring. it looks in fine condition.

I was there earlier this year when we visited Oregon. There are several of those tall waterfalls along the road running parallel to the Columbia River. Multnomah Falls is, I think, the most impressive of them. I suspect that bridge adds to the sense of scale when viewing the falls. I really loved getting to see that.

That is a monster wave. What is that location?

That was in Nazare, Portugal. 2013.
Just like Jaws, in Hawaii Nazare has a yearly big wave cycle. I promise you that place will kill the next person that tries to ride them.
When those waves build they pull all the water out from in front of them. They break in 15" of water on solid bedrock. Anyone caught in there literally vanishes. Just like a grenade is gone after it fires.

Oh.My.God. Is this a real picture? seriously??
Very seriously. I used to surf hurricane surges (nothing like this however) until I broke my neck at "Break Neck Beach" in St Augustine during Hurricane Francis. Ironic...
Here it is from another angle...

I would encourage everyone, especially those who are new to AAPK to explore the "Tips & Tricks" forum @ --->
viewforum.php?f=98
It's a treasure trove of tips and tutorials on how to do things on AAPK, which includes how to post pictures from various devices to AAPK.
Is this the picture you were talking about? As always, left click once (and sometimes twice) to enlarge the image.

Holy Moly Bob.
That guy may be a 100 pounder.
Pretty ferocious beast to be capable to singly take down a 1,200 pound Moose.
Below is a website of Basic Wolf Facts:
http://www.wolf.org/wolf-info/wild-kids/fun-facts/
Are wolves dangerous to people? In a word, the general answer is no. Wolves typically avoid people. BUT! There are several well-documented accounts of wild wolves attacking people in North America, and although there were no witnesses, a 2007 inquest determined that a young man killed in northern Saskatchewan in 2005 died as a result of a wolf attack. Accounts of wolves killing people persist in India and in Russia and parts of central Asia. It is a fact that when wild animals become habituated to people, they may lose their fear of humans, especially if they are fed or if they associate humans with providing food. Like any large predator, wolves are perfectly capable of killing people. No one should ever encourage a wolf or any other wild animal to approach, and hikers and campers should take all necessary precautions to prevent mishaps involving wildlife.
